All it took was one hour, but if you ask Antonio Quinonez, January 25th, 2009 is a day he’ll never forget. Quinonez was riding his motorcycle when he attempted to pass a big truck. The truck ended up hitting him and throwing him off the road.

The accident left him with life threatening damages to his leg. Still, the doctors wanted to try and save it. But Quinonez knew it would never be the same. “I told the doctor please cut my leg,” Quinonez said.

Quinonez still drives motorcycles now more than a year after the accident. He also repairs them, which is how he makes his living. Following the accident he only spent a week in the hospital, and a week and a half out of work.

Quinonez used crutches for a month before permanently switching to a P.E.T., which he still uses today.  ”My life is very easy now, with this,” Quinonez said of his P.E.T.
